The First Commandment
| In the moment that a person develops excessive love or attachment to an object or to a subject, this person looses notion of who is the real Supreme Being in the entire Universe. |
The first of the Ten Commandments enunciates: “You will not worship any godhead before Me”. The bible relates the occasion when the people of Israel provokes the anger of Moses, because when he is bringing the Tables of the Law, he finds the people worshiping a golden calf.
We may not have a golden calf on this age, but there are a lot of new things created by man that are the subject of worshipping for many people. The most worshipped symbol of all is money.
Many persons have lost the north moved by the ambition of getting more and more money, maybe they have started by looking for some money to cover some expenses, but suddenly they wanted more and more, until they forgot everything else but their ambition.
Some people get attached to or worship a living being, it can be a pet, or it can be something more important like a couple. A person can get lost inside that feeling, some can even forget about themselves, which is not the same as the unconditional Love that is practiced by the Light Beings.
Any kind of attach or worshiping can become an obstacle for us to find the right path on the spiritual evolution, we should always have in mind that the only important Being in our lives is and always will be God.
